"A new dress for Mrs. Bach"

The Bouquet residence. The lady of the house speaking.

This one goes out to GeraldGee, whose wonderful
lucent paintings I fell in love with,
and whose witty cartoons always make me grin.

This is a new dress for Mrs. Bach -

 - it might make her a more affable person.

Ah - and this practical yet elegant little device might change her whole household routine!

Crumbs! What a natty contraption! The keyboard skirt is pretty natty, too, not to mention the black lace gloves...

Keeping up appearances has never looked better....although a bit racier than I had imagined!

Dear Jinksy,
thank you for your comment - and teaching me two new words - natty and contraption!
Oh - and "crumbs!" I cry out now, catching them in a vain attempt to have the cake and eat it!

Dear Hostess of the Humble Bungalow,
wearing attractive clothes is a benchmark of one's social status.
So I will teach you (and Delia Wheelwright) a thing or two: The secret of the right fashionable outfit for the socially aware is:
"All one should do is let it be known that one is considerating buying something very smart, and that one could afford it if one wanted to."
So, if you enter a Prada shop or Escada or Dior: "There is absolutely no point in asking for something very expensive if nobody is listening. Be strong: leave the shop - and come back later when the place is full." As I told you in my book For the Socially Less Fortunate.
And wait till I show you my second secret: the Power of Hats!

The cartoon reminds me of a sketch from Monty Python’s Flying Circus: Ludwig is busy trying to compose, but is constantly interrupted by Mrs Beethoven doing the vacuuming and looking for the jam spoon.

I am a new follower of geraldgee, now you’ve introduced me to him.
The enigmatic, masked blogger strikes again

Dear Blogger Formerly Known As,
Thank you!I think now it is Wyse to quote from the mappandluciaglossary.blogspot.com :

Beethoven expression~ facial demeanour to be worn in Riseholme and Tilling when listening to Lucia's rendition of the slow movement from the Moonlight Sonata. With head tilted to one side it was intended to connote rapt concentration, sensitivity, uplift and enjoyment - invariably to be followed by a lengthy sigh.

I'm happy you are a "follower of fashion" now -
you will enjoy!

Not only would Mrs. Bach be more affable, but considerably thinner, to get into that wee little dress! And certainly everyone should have that elegant little crumb-catcher set . . .

Dear Raining Acorns,
Yes - if she would stop eating secretly all those crumbs...
