Here we go again (speak for yourself, girl!)
Spring is in the air, definitely - and Yours Truly starts to become restless. Looks out for a new blog (homemade, of course) as others look for a new wardrobe. (Well, she's doing that too - I'm fed up with articles about The Savvy Life, How to Throw out and Streamline your Clothes, etc)
But technology keeps me at bay. Even when I deleted one blog I was not allowed to create a new one - maybe the Google-Watchdog has fallen asleep over my third post about Ol' Frederick... or maybe it is just his springtime lethargy hindering him to read anything "witty" anymore.
Anyway - I skip the idea of a new blog and look at what I have. (A very good idea in Life as such!)
"Gardening in High Heels" slumbers peacefully - it became a victim of my Prussian honesty. I have to face it: my grand beautiful garden no longer exists (for me) - that's why I had the idea to write a blog called "Balcony-Gardening in Kitten Heels". (Sometimes Life reduces me to normal height).
I pondered, vexed. I was upset. No other blog? No new clothes?
But then: I am versatile. One of my best character traits - as I see it - is being able to adjust. Sometimes it takes a little longer - when the grief about a loss is very deep - but even then: Spring will come.
So I use what I have: 'Gardening in High Heels' will take my new kitten heels on board and must accept gardening on a balcony; and on "You are Witty and Pretty" you'll find a new section - to be recognized by the picture above with the happy drawing of Janosch. That signals: just plain Everyday-Life as seen by Yours Truly - not especially witty, not especially pretty, (mind: I'm speaking of the post!) but hopefully as fresh as a daisy.

I'm always attracted to posts on 'plain everyday life'. As a student of human nature (self taught!) I love blogs that give me a window on life far away, life lived in another way etc etc. You life seems quite exotic to me and I'm always happy to receive notice of a new post. I'll be watching your balcony gardening too!
If you are looking for change, you can change the header on your blog page..renaming the blog. The url address can stay 'youarewittyandpretty'.....just rename it on the page. When we moved and no longer lived in Seaford I thought about changing the name...just keeping the address.
Enjoy the coming of spring.
I garden on a balcony in thongs! Never been great with high heels.
I do the kitten heels and in fact love them, but heard a fashion expert say they are out this year, it's either flats or ultra high! Oh no !! Oh well that's me, always a bit out of step.
I'd love to hear about your everyday life, especially so far away from mine.
Penny x
Ah, change. Inevitable, but also wonderful. I look forward to it all!
Dear Pondside,
thank you! It is always astonishing to hear one's own life 'exotic' - but come to think of it, I see that as a great chance in Blogland: by your posts e.g. I often think: life has so many options - so many ways to live it, it is so fascinating (I would like to look at a pond, to have some hens)
Dear Janet,
thank you for your technical advice! I copied it - though I wanted an added blog, a further page (that could be skipped by those who want more sophisticated themes). I found the offer "New Blog" - but I cannot activate it. Well - might have its deeper meaning too.
Dear Penny,
to be on the safe side, I looked into my dictionary - and 'thongs' is what I thought it is. My neighbours would be delighted, I assume :-), they already take much interest in my life on the balcony. Here in Germany kitten heels are the dernier cri - but flats and high heels still go on (well, flats to run through the city, and high heels for standing alluringly at a party)
Dear Susan,
not exactly: I'm not giving up the other topics - I only expand my themes. Whether I succeed time will show - I just wanted something that is quicker and more personal. But as I said: only an addition, an experiment (e.g. as much as I liked my "The Lady of the House speaking" I gave that up after some time)
Blogs should be about real life from different perspectives. Otherwise they're more like advertisements. Your blog is wonderful anyway you decide to make it go. It's got your bubbly personality written all over it.
Dear Walk2write,
that is a big compliment, thank you! I like to experiment - find out whether one can come to grips with something on a tinier scale (as 'gardening' on a balcony) or a huge cultural challenge as the '300 years Friedrich der Große' - festivities this year (where everything seems to be said - but then I find some tidbits).
I don't mind what you do or how much you change your blog as long as you keep on writing it! Change is good anyway :)
Haha...I just read the comment by 'plaits and paisley'about gardening in thongs and had a bit of a 'moment'Here in the UK, thongs are those knickers (underpants) with the tiny triangle of fabric at the front and tiny strips of fabric just about holding everything together. I thought she was wandering around on her balcony in her undies - then I realised that she meant flip-flops!!!
Dear Nutty Gnome,
thank you for that Piece of Enlightenment! Of course I thought of those flashing under'pants' too (we call them 'string' or 'tanga') - that's why I made the remark about interested neighbours; male of course :-) I would never have found out that flip-flops were meant! Hahahaha - giggling on my balcony...
Spring will, indeed, come. Spring always comes. The beauty of spring...
Perhaps your Pretty and Witty blog was meant not to change. Where would we all go for pretty and witty? Although, you could always supplement with Balcony Gardening. That sounds like a lot of fun. I garden on my deck. Mostly in my slippers. (Since I left the corporate world, I've been weeding the closet of my high heels!) ;)
I agree with you, my dear Britta, one of the best character traits it he ability to adapt and adjust.
It's funny how much blogging seeps into our identity ...
Dear Jayne,
now 'slippers' is a word I understand :-) Yes, throwing out the High Heels might be a good thing - they are murdering the back - I don't wear them that often, but like them very much when I (1.78m) stand between Husband (1.98m) and Son (2.02m) - though even without the High Heels I feel almost as tall as them :-)
Dear Suze,
but I get thoughtful when I see myself being on the watch-out for something to write about, being on a meta-level instead of being 'with it'. This morning I really had to force myself to listen attentively to a blackbird - without trying to compose a post around it for my blog.
